Nuwara Eliya (City of Lights) is a resort city in the Central Mountain range of Sri Lanka. It is at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka. The city is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is known for its temperate, cool climate the coolest area in Sri Lanka.
On the way to Nuwara Eliya, we come across several waterfalls from which we are scheduled to visit the Ramboda Falls. Along to way to Nuwara Eliya, we will also visit the Tea Factory and the luscious Tea Plantations of the country.
Once we reach Nuwara Eliya, first we will be visiting the Gregory Lake. This was build in 1873 and is the most prominent attraction in Nuwara Eliya. Visitors come here to spend some time by the lake and relax. This place is famous for its water sports activities.
Victoria Park is a public park located in Nuwara Eliya, next to the Nuwara Eliya Post Office in Sri Lanka. … The park was formally named in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The park was established with the planting of its first tree, an Oak, by a visiting German Princess.
Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The other four are Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden and Seetawaka Botanical Garden. It is the second largest garden in Sri Lanka.
